On the morning of May 11, 2023, a fishing boat named "Shuenn Fwu Yu No. 83", CT number CT4-3224 sank after catching fire at 89 nautical miles northeast of Bi Tou Cape. The captain and five crew members on board were all rescued by a helicopter dispatched by the National Search Center, and all were safe.
