Daily Air Corp. DO-228 Occurrence Initial Report

On February 5th, 2015, Daily Air Corp. flight DAC7505, a DO228 airplane, registration number B-55563 took off at 1251 Taipei local time from Tatung airport for schedule passenger flight to Lanyu airport. The aircraft veered off the runway strips when flight crew attempting to maneuver the aircraft back to the runway centerline during landing roll. The flight crew discovered the landing gears fail to retract when flight crew making the reject landing for go around. The flight crew then decided to make an air turn back to Taitung airport and asked the control tower and related personnel observed the landing gears prior to landing. The aircraft landed safety at 1350 hrs at Taitung airport without substantial damage; no personnel onboard received any injuries.

The Aviation Safety Council (ASC) after receiving the notification has determined the event is an aviation occurrence defined by the “Aviation Occurrence Act”. The Investigator-In-Charge has been assigned to this investigation. The investigation team had removed the Cockpit Voice Recorder, completed flight crew interview and alcohol test, collect related flight operation and weather information. The ASC and Taiwan Civil Aviation Authority will conduct a landing gear weight on wheels test on February 6.
