TransAsia Airways Flight GE536 rolling off runway

A TranAsia Airways aircraft, flight number GE536 with registration number B-22310,departed from Tainan Airport at 1910 local time(UTC)on October 18, 2004 to Taipei Sung Shan Airport with 100 passengers, 4 cabin crews and 2 flight crews on board. GE536 landed at Sung Shan Airport at 2000 local time and rolling off from the end of runway with nose gear rested in a ditch. No injury was reported.

Light rain, 010 degree of wind direction, 4 knots of wind speed and 4500 meters of visibility were reported in the area at the time of the occurrence.
The Aviation Safety Council dispatched 5 personnel as the Go-Team to the scene immediately after being notified. It was found that the nose gear was broken and the number two engine cowling and pylon damaged. Both the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) and Flight Data Recorder (FDR) were recovered and read out. The aircraft now was moved to a hangar for further structural inspections and system functional checks.

ASC’s investigator Capt. Ranger Chen has been assigned to be the Investigator-In-Charge of this investigation pursuant to article 11 of the Aviation Occurrence Investigation Act.
