The executive Yuan approved Dr. Kay Yong’s resignation of Chairman and Managing Director and will be effective starting April 1.

Dr. Yong is the first managing director of ASC since 1998. Yong has dedicated a great deal of effort in the improvement of the flight safety in his region and actively involved in the interactions with investigation agencies. He served as the Investigator in charge of several occurrences as Sq006 and CI611, which brought the industry attention to the importance of runway safety and maintenance issues. The professionalism of the ASC’s group was also well known by the arena under Yong’s leadership.

Dr. Kay Yong’s professionalism is also recognized by the international aviation community and was awarded with the the Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators in 2002, Sir Barnes Wallis Medal and Aviation week & space Technology’s Laurels award in 2003 and FSF’s the Laura Barbour Aviation Safety Award in 2004.
