Premier Hsieh has appointed Dr. Jingshown Wu, current board member of the Aviation Safety Council(ASC), as the Council’s Chairman. Dr. C.I. Weng (also current board member) has been the acting Chairman after Dr. Kay Yong’s departure on April 1, 2005. The new appointment becomes effective since August 4th, 2005.

Prior to the new assignment, Chairman Wu served as the Vice-President of National Taiwan University(NTU); Chairman of the Commission on Research & Development (NTU), Director of Engineering & Applied Science of National Science Council and Chairman of IEEE Taipei Chapter. Chairman Wu received his Ph.D., Electrical Engineering at Cornell University Ithaca, NY and M.S.& B.S Electrical Engineering at NTU.
