UNI AIR Flight BR-806 Occurrence Initial Report

On May 12, 2011,UNI AIR passengers Flight 806, a MD-90 registration B-17817 took off from Macau Airport for International Taoyuan Airport. After landing on Runway 06 at 2036, the main gear skid off the runway, which might cause damage to 4 runway edge lights (R19, R22, R23,R24). The maintenance found scratches on number 1, 3, and 4 main gear.

At 2141, Aviation Safety Council was informed by the Flight Operation Division of Taoyuan International Airport Company, and immediately launched the on-scene team. After evidence collection, it was confirmed that the damage of the runway 06 four edge lights were caused by the aircraft. The on-scene team returned to ASC for briefing and ASC has determined the event an occurrence according to the Article 2 and 6 of the Aviation Occurrence Act. ASC has completed flight crew interview, alcohol test, runway inspection, removal of flight data recorder and relevant data collection. The investigation team will be divided into groups of Flight Operation, Air Traffic Services, Airport, Maintenance, and Recorders. An organization meeting was held on May, 15, 2011.
