On May 16, 2012, Far Eastern Air Transport passengers flight 025, a MD-82 registration B-28037 took off from Songshan Airport for Magong Airport. When landing on Runway 02 at 1042, it stopped beyond the runway end lights and on the Runway 20 pre-threshold area. The aircraft had no damage and all people aboard were safe.

At 1158, Aviation Safety Council was informed and immediately launched an on-scene team. The ASC has determined the event an occurrence according to the Article 2 and 6 of the Aviation Occurrence Act. ASC has completed initial interviews to pilots, runway inspection, removal of flight recorders and relevant data collection. The investigation team will set up working groups in areas of expertise in flight operations, air traffic services, airport, maintenance, and recorders.
