EVA Airways Flight BR189 Occurrence Initial Report

On September 13, 2012, Eva Airways flight 189, an Airbus A330-300 registration B-16331 took off from Haneda Airport for SongShan Airport. After landing on Runway 10 at 1243, the aircraft skid off the runway temporarily, caused damage to runway edge light. The aircraft had no damage and all people aboard were safe.

Aviation Safety Council was informed by the Flight Operation Division of SongShan  Airport, and immediately launched an on-scene team to the airport. Flight crew were interviewed; cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder were removed from the aircraft for further investigation; ATC and weather data were collected. The team also conducted aircraft systems inspection, aircraft tire mark measurements, runway service inspection and data collection. ASC has determined the event is an aviation occurrence defined by the “Aviation Occurrence Act”. The Investigator-In-Charge and a team has been assigned to this investigation.
