On June 16, 2014, Far Eastern Air Transport passengers flight FE061, an MD-82 airplane, registration number B-28017, took off from Songshan Airport at 0750 Taipei time for Kinmen Airport. The airplane carried 98 passengers and 6 crew members, totally 104 people on board. When landing on Runway 06 at 0853, the airplane stopped beyond the runway end line. The airplane had no damage and all people on board were safe.

After receiving the notification, the Aviation Safety Council (ASC) immediately launched an on-scene team heading to Kinmen Airport. The on-scene team performed evidence collections, finished initial flight crew and traffic controller interviews, and removed Cockpit Voice Recorder and Flight Data Recorder. In accordance with the Aviation Occurrence Investigation Act and referencing to ICAO Annex 13, the ASC identified the event was an aviation occurrence. The Investigator-In-Charge and investigation team were assigned to proceed the occurrence investigation.

The factual data related to the occurrence will be released after the factual data report is completed.
