Initial Report of Ultra-light Vehicle S-6 COYOTE II Occurrence
On March 16, 2015, an ultra-light vehicle, type S-6 COYOTE II, departed from an airfield in Dapeng Bay at 1010L. At 1040L, the vehicle crashed into the Dapeng Bay lagoon, one operator and one passenger aboard were killed.
After receiving the notification from the Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA), the Aviation Safety Council (ASC) determined the event is an aviation occurrence, in accordance with the Aviation Occurrence Investigation Act. The Investigator-In-Charge and investigation team were assigned to proceed the occurrence investigation. The ASC immediately launched the go team headed to the site. The team performed evidence collection tasks including witnesses interviews, airfield inspection, measurements, wreckage recovery and temporary storage etc.
