Roc Aviation Company BN-2 Occurrence Initial Report

On April 16, 2015, a Roc Aviation Company (RAC) BN-2B-20 aircraft, registration number B-68802, ferried flight from Taitung Airport for SongShan Airport. After took off, the generator warning light was on and the left engine speed started to reduce. The flight crew judged that the left engine was failed. Therefore, emergency procedures were performed, and flight crew requested to return Taitung Airport. After inspection, the left engine damage was found.

After the Aviation Safety Council (ASC) was notified, an investigator was dispatched immediately to the Taitung Airport to proceed with aircraft structure and engines inspection and relvant data collection. Based on the “Aviation Occurrence Act”, the ASC has presumed that this event is an aviation occurrence. The Investigator-In-Charge had been assigned to this investigation.
