The Aviation Safety Council (ASC) held the '2017 AsiaSASI EXCO Meeting and Investigation Practice Technical Meeting ' on June 20 and 21, 2017.

The ASC joined the International Society of Air Safety Investigators (ISASI) as a member in 1998. With a view to promoting experiences-sharing, information-exchange and establishing resources-interchange among air safety investigators and air safety investigating bodies within Asian region, eighteen Corporate Members and four Individual Members of ISASI in Asia co-initiated the formation of an Asian Regional Chapter of the ISASI, so the Asian Society of Air Safety Investigators (AsiaSASI) was formed in 2009. The ASC was invited to become a founding member of the AsiaSASI and joined the Executive Committee (EXCO) to be a co-opted Member on April, 2015. Currently members of EXCO are: Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Macau and Indonesia. The AsiaSASI EXCO meeting is hosted by Member State annually on a rotational basis.

Participants include Japan Transport Safety Board (JTSB), Indonesian National Transportation Safety Committee (NTSC), and Transport Safety Investigation Bureau (TSIB) of Singapore. To enable representatives of AsiaSASI EXCO and Taiwan's civil aviation industries to share and exchange further on aviation occurrence investigation, the ASC has also organized the ‘2017 AsiaSASI Investigation Practice Technical Meeting’ on 21 June.
