EVA Airways Flight 56 Occurrence Initial Report
On November 22, 2017, EVA Airways passengers flight 56, aircraft model B777, registration B-16718, took off from Taoyuan International Airport for O'Hare International Airport, the United States. While the aircraft passing through Fukuoka, Japan, at altitude of 31,000 feet, encountered turbulence and 3 passengers and 8 cabin crew members suffered abrasion and contusion injuries, the one of cabin crew suffered a serious injury.
After receiving the notification, the Aviation Safety Council determined the event is an aviation occurrence defined by the “Aviation Occurrence Act”. The Investigator-In-Charge and an investigation team has been assigned to this investigation.
