China Airlines Flight CI6844 Occurrence Initial Report
On December 14, 2018, China Airlines cargo flight CI6844, a B747-400F aircraft, registration number B-18717, took off from Hong Kong International Airport for Taoyuan International Airport. The aircraft undershoot on landing on 05L runway at 0019 in the morning, and the two flight crews on board were safe.
After receiving the notification, the Aviation Safety Council (ASC) launched the on-scene team heading to the Taoyuan International airport. The on-scene team performed evidence collections, finished runway service measurements, flight crew interviews, carried back Cockpit Voice Recorder and Flight Data Recorder and review airport facilities related information. In accordance with the Aviation Occurrence Investigation Act and referencing to ICAO Annex 13, the ASC identified this event was an aviation occurrence. The Investigator-In-Charge and investigation team were assigned to proceed the occurrence investigation.
