Initial Report of Powered Paraglider Occurrence

On January 27, 2019, about 0830 AM, a powered parachute with one operator on board, crashed at Koushe riverbed of Gaushu Township, Pingtung County (Guangxing Bridge and Koushou Bridge). The operator sustained femur fracture injury and the vehicle was substantial damaged.

After receiving the notification, the Aviation Safety Council (ASC) launched a go-team and headed to the crash site. The go-team performed evidence collections, wreckage inspection and site survey.

According to Aviation Occurrence Investigation Act, the ASC identified the event as an aviation occurrence and assigned an Investigator-in-Charge and investigation team to proceed with the occurrence investigation.

Further information related to the occurrence will be published after the completion of the investigation.
