China Airlines Flight CI 122 Occurrence Initial Report

On March 9, 2019, China Airlines passenger flight CI 122, a B747-400 aircraft, registration number B-18211, took off from Taoyuan International Airport for Naha International Airport, air turn back due to bad weather at Naha airport. The flight crew declared emergency due to low on fuel condition. After air traffic control guided the flight in priority, the aircraft safe landed at the Taoyuan Airport safely at 2101 Taipei local time.

After receiving the notification, Aviation Safety Council (ASC) sent the investigators for flight crew interviews, and removed the Cockpit Voice Recorder and Flight Data Recorder. The event is identified as an aviation occurrence according to Aviation Occurrence Investigation Act, and with reference to ICAO Annex 13. The Investigator-In-Charge and investigation team has been assigned to this investigation.

 

The factual data related to the occurrence will be released after the factual data report is completed.
