Scoot Tigerair Flight TR996 Occurrence Initial Report

On March 24, 2019, Scoot Tigerair flight TR996, an A320-232 aircraft, registration number 9V-TAU, took off from Singapore Changi International Airport (WSSS) for Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (RCTP). During approach to RCTP, about altitude 14,000 ft, the excessive cabin altitude waring was shown in the cockpit. Pilots immediately donned oxygen masks and manually deployed cabin oxygen masks. Aircraft continued approach to RCTP and safely landed without further events. On board 6 crewmembers and 178 passengers were all safe.

After receiving the notification, the Aviation Safety Council (ASC) launched the on-scene team heading to the Taoyuan International airport and performed flight crew interview and evidence collections. In accordance with the Aviation Occurrence Investigation Act and referencing to ICAO Annex 13, the ASC identified this event was an aviation occurrence. The on-scene team has finished flight recorders readout, and interviewed the flight crew.
