Mandarin Airlines Flight AE7931 Occurrence Initial Report

On May 2, 2019, Mandarin Airlines passenger flight AE7931, an ATR72-600 aircraft, national registration number B-16851, took off from Kaohsiung Airport at 1431for Hualien Airport. During descending, the aircraft experienced cabin altitude anomaly. The flight crew executed emergency descent and 2 crew members used oxygen masks. The aircraft landed at 1529 safely. The on board 4 crewmembers, 1 maintenance personnel and 48 passengers were all safe.

After receiving the notification, the Aviation Safety Council identified this event an aviation occurrence in accordance with the Aviation Occurrence Investigation Act and referencing to the ICAO Annex 13. The Investigator-In-Charge and investigation team were assigned to conduct the investigation.
