2019 Aircraft Occurrence Investigators Annual Recurrent Training

The Taiwan Transportation Safety Board (TTSB) holds its annual investigator recurrent training at Taipei headquarter between October 23rd and 25th ,2019.  The objectives of the recurrent training are to familiarize TTSB air safety investigators’ knowledge to international investigation protocols, while enhancing the investigative techniques in their specializations; therefore, each year the Safety Board will invite either foreign investigation bureau, aircraft manufacturer, flight safety division of airline operators, or a specialization agency to give recurrent training to TTSB investigators.

The theme for the recurrent training is “Runway Safety and Wet/Contaminated Runway Occurrence Investigation.”  Mr. Gerard van Es, a senior researcher from the Netherland Aerospace Center (NLR) will be the training instructor.  Mr. van Es also takes the role as the project manager of EASA’s runway safety research, part of EASA Future Sky Safety research plan. Besides TTSB investigators, personnel from CAA Taiwan, airline operators, and investigators from Japan Transport Safety Board (JTSB), Transportation Safety Investigation Bureau (TSIB) Singapore, National Transportation Safety Committee (NTSC) Indonesia, and Air Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) Malaysia will join the recurrent training this year.

 

Topics for the 3-day training includes, aircraft performance on wet and contaminated runway, hydroplaning, crosswind, regulations, technologies that improves runway safety, and case studies...etc.
