On June28, 2020, the Taiwan Sugar Corporation’s（TSC）Train No.101 departed from ZhongXing Station in Xinying Sugar Factory at 0900, and the destination was Balaoye Station. At 0905, the train derailed at 0K+350. There were no casualties in the accident.

After receiving the notification, the Taiwan Transportation Safety Board (TTSB) immediately dispatched five investigators with the people of Railway Bureau, MOTC and TSC heading to the scene performing evidence collections, conducting personnel interviews as well as collecting relevant information. The TTSB identified that this event was a railway occurrence following the Transportation Occurrence Investigation Act. The Investigator-In-Charge was assigned and an investigation team was launched to conduct the investigation.
