China Airlines CI202 Occurrence Investigation Initial Report

On June 14, 2020, China Airlines CI202, an A330-302 aircraft, registration number B-18302, took off from Shanghai Pudong International Airport (ZSPD) for Taipei Songshan International Airport (RCSS). While landing at Songshan Airport runway 10, at about 1749L, the aircraft encountered spoilers, auto brake, and both engine thrust reversers failed to operate. Being aware of this situation, the flight crew applied the manual brake and stopped the aircraft at about 30 ft before the end of the runway. The aircraft had no damage and all 76 passengers and 11 crew members on board were safe.       

According to the Transportation Occurrence Investigation Act, the Taiwan Transportation Safety Board determined the event is an aviation occurrence. The Investigator-In-Charge and an investigation team has been assigned to this occurrence.
