At about 10:30, July30, 2022, the Taiwan Sugar Corporation’s（TSC）train No.1 in Suantou Sugar Factory derailed at the No.20 turnout. There were no casualties in the accident.

After receiving the notification, the Taiwan Transportation Safety Board (TTSB) immediately dispatched six investigators with the personnel of Railway Bureau, MOTC and TSC heading to the scene performing evidence collections, conducting personnel interviews as well as collecting relevant information. The TTSB identified that this event was a railway occurrence following the Transportation Occurrence Investigation Act. The Investigator-In-Charge was assigned and an investigation team was launched to conduct the investigation.
