On August 1st, 2022, at 12:02 PM, a bus of Yalan Bus Transportation Co., Ltd., plate #059-FS, overturned at about southbound 57.6km of National Freeway No. 3 as it changed lane from the inner 2nd lane to its right, and collided with one large truck at the out lane. 22 people were on board including the driver and 16 received injuries due to this occurrence.

After receiving the notification, the Taiwan Transportation Safety Board (TTSB) immediately dispatched 4 investigators to the scene to perform evidence collection, conduct personnel interviews as well as collect relevant information. The TTSB identified that this event was a highway occurrence following the Transportation Occurrence Investigation Act. The Investigator-In-Charge was assigned and an investigation team was launched to conduct the investigation.
