Vietnam flag bulk carrier VIMC Sunrise major marine occurrence initial report

On 17th October, 2022, at about 1610 local time (UTC 0810), a Vietnam flag Bulk Carrier, VIMC SUNRISE, IMO NO. 9331878, during sailing on the Taiwan Strait , there were one crew overboard missing and three crews injured. There was no environmental pollution involved at present in this event.

The Taiwan Transportation Safety Board(TTSB)identified that this event was a very serious marine casualty per the Transportation Occurrence Investigation Act and referencing to the Casualty Investigation Code of the International Maritime Organization(IMO).The Investigator-In-Charge was assigned, and an investigation team was launched to conduct the investigation.
