Singapore flag container vessel WAN HAI 312 major marine occurrence initial report

On 10th July 2023, at about 1955 local time (UTC 1155), a Singapore flag Container Vessel, WAN HAI 312, IMO No.9248693, gross tonnage 27800, was sailing outbound from the basin of Kaohsiung No.2 port entrance, the vessel made contact with the revetment during the turn to starboard. There was no crew injured and environmental pollution was involved at present in this event.

The Taiwan Transportation Safety Board(TTSB)identified that this event was a marine casualty per the Transportation Occurrence Investigation Act and referenced to the Casualty Investigation Code of the International Maritime Organization(IMO). The Investigator-In-Charge was assigned, and an investigation team was launched to conduct the investigation.
