Double Lucky Passenger Cargo Ship major marine occurrence initial report

On July 3rd 2023, at about 1703 local time, a Taiwan flag passenger-cargo ship Double Lucky (Ship No. 016429) had 4 crew members and 71 passengers on board was grounded at outer breakwater on her voyage from Dong Ji Islet, Penghu County to Jiangjun fishing harbor, Tainan City. At about 2050 local time, Double Lucky refloated with the assistance of another ship and herself. There were no casualties and oil pollution.

 

The Taiwan Transportation Safety Board (TTSB) has classified this event as a marine casualty according to the Transportation Occurrence Investigation Act and referenced the Casualty Investigation Code of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). An Investigator-In-Charge has been assigned, and an investigation team has been launched to conduct the investigation.
