Taiwan flag fishing boat CHUN I NO.6 major marine occurrence initial report

At about 0015 hours on July 15, 2023, a crew member of CHUN I NO.6 fishing boat, numbered CT8-0150, fell into the sea and missed at about 720 miles northeast of Kushiro Port in Japan. After 72 hours of search and rescue, no results were found.

The Taiwan Transportation Safety Board(TTSB)classified that this event was a marine casualty per the Transportation Occurrence Investigation Act and referenced to the Casualty Investigation Code of the International Maritime Organization(IMO). The Investigator-In-Charge was assigned, and an investigation team was launched to conduct the investigation.
