The Preliminary report of TigerAir Taiwan IT-237 Aviation Occurrence

On August 7, 2023, at 1123 Taipei time, Tigerair Taiwan Flight IT-237, an Airbus A320 aircraft, took off from the Japan Hakodate Airport to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport with two flight crew members, four cabin crew members, and 168 passengers on board. At around 1440, after landing at Taoyuan International Airport, the first officer lost consciousness. The aircraft was taxied to the parking apron by the captain, and after the aircraft was parked, the first officer regained consciousness and was taken for medical examination.

 

After receiving the notification, the Taiwan Transportation Safety Board (TTSB) immediately dispatched 4 investigators to Taoyuan International Airport to gather information in accordance with the procedures for investigating aviation occurrences. This event was identified by the TTSB as an aviation occurrence in accordance with the Transportation Occurrence Investigation Act. An official investigation has been launched and the investigation team will continue to gather relevant evidence.
