On November 25, 2023, at about 1836 local time, a collision occurred between the Vietnamese-flagged tugboat BINH AN (IMO number 9246126) total 17 crews onboard including Master, towing a barge "TIPM 514001" (MMSI 416006589), and a national recreational fishing boat JINN AN HAE BAW, 2 crews including Master and 14 passengers onboard, CT2-7157. The collision took place about 7 nautical miles west of Anping Port, Tainan City. As a result of the collision, the bow of the JINN AN HAE BAW was substantially damaged, one passenger fell into the sea and is currently missing, two crew members sustained serious injuries, and four passengers were injured.
