February 12, 2024, a Local Train No. 4816 of Taiwan Railway Corporation, Ltd. (TRC) departed from Badouzi Station and was expected to Jingtong Station. At 10:50, when departing from Lingjiao Station in New Taipei City, the first two axles of the third car （DR1032）derailed. There were no fatalities or injuries in this occurrence.

After receiving the notification, the Taiwan Transportation Safety Board (TTSB) immediately dispatched five investigators, with the personnel of the Railway Bureau, MOTC, and TRC, to the field to gather information in accordance with the procedures for investigating railway occurrences. This event was identified by the TTSB as a railway occurrence in accordance with the Transportation Occurrence Investigation Act. An official investigation has been launched and the investigation team will continue to gather relevant evidence.
