On March 11th, 2024, at 19:14, a tourist bus operated by Long Lai Transportation Limited Company carrying students from Kang Chiao International School, overturned inside the Wenshan Tunnel on the northbound lane of the Xinyi Expressway. More than18 passengers sustained injuries in this occurrence.

After receiving the notification, the Taiwan Transportation Safety Board (TTSB) immediately dispatched 4 investigators to the field to gather information in accordance with the procedures for investigating highway occurrences. This event was identified as a highway occurrence in accordance with the Transportation Occurrence Investigation Act and the Scope of Major Transportation Occurrence by the TTSB. An official investigation has been launched and the investigation team will continue to gather relevant evidence.
