The Taiwan Transportation Safety Board (TTSB) hosts the 2025 Asia-Oceania Accident Investigator Recorder Meeting from April 8 to 10, 2025, convening transportation safety agencies from the Asia-Oceania region. Alongside TTSB, participating agencies include Japan Transport Safety Board (JTSB), Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), Transport Safety Investigation Bureau (TSIB) (Singapore), Aviation and Railway Accident Investigation Board (ARAIB) (Korea), National Transportation Safety Center (NTSC) (Saudi Arabia), Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB), and Air Accident Investigation Bureau Malaysia (AAIB Malaysia). The meeting is attended by 32 delegates from 7 countries and 8 agencies.

The meeting commences with a two-day agenda at Hotel Metropolitan Premier Taipei, which includes introductions and updates on each country's laboratories, techniques for data readout from damaged recorder, occurrence scene measurement techniques, flight recorder underwater positioning, readout and interpretation from multi-module vehicle recorders, laser scanning techniques and data recovery. The third day agenda features a guided tour of the TTSB laboratory, following by a visit to STARLUX Airlines, where delegates explored the airline’s Flight Operational Quality Assurance (FOQA) program and data applications.

This year’s meeting will foster in-depth exchanges on engineering techniques critical to transportation occurrence investigations, achieving its objective of enhancing the engineering capabilities of participating nations. Through this international collaboration, the meeting further strengthens expertise in occurrence investigation, contributing to the advancement of transportation safety.
