The Initial Press Release of a Passenger Car Colliding with Motorcycles and Pedestrians along Guocheng Street in Sanxia District of New Taipei City
On May 19, 2025, at about 16:04, a privately owned passenger car traveling south collided with bicycles, motorcycles, and several pedestrians along Guocheng Street in Sanxia District, New Taipei City. The vehicle then continued straight along Lane 132 of Fuxing Road and came to a stop after hitting a central traffic island. As a result of the crash, two students and a motorcycle rider were fatally injured, and 12 others sustained injuries.
After receiving the notification, the Taiwan Transportation Safety Board (TTSB) dispatched investigators to the field to collect evidence and relevant information. The TTSB identified this event as a highway occurrence following the Transportation Occurrence Investigation Act. The Investigator-In-Charge was assigned, and an investigation team was launched to conduct the investigation.
