The Initial Press Release on the Grounding of Passenger Ship All Star No.1 while Entering Budai Port, Chiayi County
At approximately 1751 local time on 15 July 2026, the Taiwan-flagged passenger ship All Star No.1 (Official No. 014116, gross tonnage 430), with a total of 235 persons on board, including 8 crew members and 227 passengers, grounded while entering Budai Port. No injuries or environmental pollution were reported.
The Taiwan Transportation Safety Board (TTSB) classified the occurrence as a major marine occurrence in accordance with the Transportation Occurrence Investigation Act and with reference to the Casualty Investigation Code of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). An Investigator-in-Charge has been appointed and an Investigation Task Force has been established to conduct the safety investigation.
