When an aircraft has an occurrence in Taiwan, according to the aviation occurrence investigation law and regulations, the owner of the aircraft, the operator(airlines) and air traffic control (ATC) agencies shall inform the ASC immediately after learning the news.

When an aircraft has an occurrence during cruise, takeoff or landing, the pilot usually needs the help from ATC, which may be changing the flight level, air return, diverting to alternative airport, rejecting takeoff or the need of fire engines and ambulances on standby etc. After learning the message related to an aviation occurrence, the ATC have to inform the ASC as soon as possible. If occurrence location was beyond the Taipei FIR, our ATC may not know the occurrence. However the operator (airlines) should know that. After receiving the message of occurrence, the airlines also must inform the ASC as soon as possible.

If an ROC registered aircraft has an occurrence in other states, the state of occurrence shall forward a notification to ASC. Therefore, in addition to receiving the domestic occurrence notification, the ASC may receive the occurrence notification from other states from time to time.

There are several ways to notify an occurrence to ASC as follows,

  • Telephone: 0800-004-006 and 0935-628-217 (24 hours)
  • Fax: 02-8912-7397
  • E-mail: go_team@asc.gov.tw
