A Yatong Bus Rear-ended a Tractor-Trailer on the Northbound Taishan Section of Freeway No.1
Description
On October 8, 2025, about 06:52 A.M., a bus operated by Yatong Bus Co., Ltd. rear-ended a tractor-trailer at the northbound Taishan section at the 33.7-kilometer mark of Freeway No. 1. 28 occupants sustained injuries in this occurrence.
Stage
After receiving the notification, the Taiwan Transportation Safety Board (TTSB) immediately dispatched 3 investigators to the field to gather information in accordance with the procedures for investigating highway occurrences. This event was identified as a major highway occurrence in accordance with the Transportation Occurrence Investigation Act and Point 4 of the Scope of Major Transportation Occurrence by the TTSB. An official investigation has been launched with a chief investigator appointed and a special investigation team established to continue gathering relevant evidence.
