Description

On May 8th, 2000, at approximately 04:38UTC,an Helicopter (BELL-430), registration number B-55531, had crashed at a location of 120°55’44.04”E / 24°10’28.56” N, The flight′s destination was Chiu An Farm, Tai Chung County, Taiwan. Two crewmembers (pilot-in-command / first officer) and six passengers aboard B-55531 survived from the crash. All persons on board were injured in the accident -- one severely wounded and hospitalized after evacuating from the helicopter. While approaching to the FATO of Chiu An Farm, the main rotor of the helicopter became snagged by cable stretching across the valley of Da Jia River. The flightcrew switched off the fuel valve first then landed the helicopter on the riverbank by applying auto-rotation procedure.
