Uni Airways Flight B7 660 scraped its left wing tips on Runway 27 of Kaohsiung International Airport during first landing go around.

Description

On September 02, 2005, about 1235 Taipei local time, Uni Airways Flight B7 660, an MD-90 aircraft, registration B-17922, scraped its left wing tips on Runway 27 of Kaohsiung International Airport during first landing go around. There were scratch marks on the bottom of the left wing tip. Part of the landing light housing was missing. The cover of after position light was broken. The missing landing light housing and its glass fragments were found afterwards from 4,000ft to 4,500 ft on Runway 27 pavement. Two pilots, 4 cabin attendants and 17 passengers on board were no injury.
The METAR of RCKH at 1230 Taipei local time: Wind-230 degrees at 14 knots; Visibility- greater than 10 kilometers; Clouds-few 1,800 feet broken 30,000 feet; Altimeter Setting-1006 hPa.
The Aviation Safety Council (Taiwan) is conducting the investigation. The representatives from Taiwan CAA and Uni Airways were invited to participate the investigation.
