Description

On Oct. 30 0732Hrs (local time), an IKARUS C42B twin seat Ultra Light, crashed at Tsang-pu-liao mountain area, Mei-shan Shian, Chia-Yei county. The aircraft was destroyed by post fire. Only the part of tail and some debris could be identified. A female passenger was killed. The male operator suffered serious burn and died after 7 days’ hospital treatment. A portable GPS receiver with damaged front panel was found at crash site. The Council recovered the GPS track data and reconstructed the flight path. Presently the case is under investigation by Aviation Safety Council. The report is expected to be published in August, 2006.
