Description

On July 14, 2006, at 1915 Taipei local time, Far Eastern Air Transport Flight EF066, an MD-83 aircraft, registration B-28031, landed on Runway 10 of Taipei/Sungshan Airport. After taxiing to the ramp, a cut mark on no.3 main wheel tire and a lot of grass in R/H wheel assembly were found during inspection. Five runway edge lights were damaged. Initially, it revealed that the aircraft made an excursion during its landing roll. Two pilots, 4 cabin attendants and 51 passengers on board were no injury. The SPECI of RCSS at 1914 Taipei local time: Variable wind direction, Wind speed 3 knots; Visibility- 2,000 meter; Clouds-few 500 feet, broken 2,000, broken 3,500 feet; Temperature 28℃; dew point 25℃。. In according with Investigation law, Aviation Safety Council is conducting this occurrence investigation. The representatives from CAA and Far Eastern Air Transport were invited to participate in the investigation team.
