Description

On September 2, 2010 at 21:37 Taipei local time (Coordinated Universal Time, UTC 13:37), EVA Airways (BR) 701, a 747-400 (bearing ROC Registration Number B-16410) encountered runway excursion during landing on runway 24 at Tao Yuan International Airport. The aircraft was on a scheduled passenger flight from Poo Dong International Airport, Shang Hai, China to Tao Yuan International Airport, Taiwan.


After landing the aircraft veered to the left of the runway with left wing gears out of the runway pavement to the grass. The aircraft was controlled back to the center of runway and taxied out to the taxi way at nearly the end of runway. On ground check the crew found the No.1, 3 and 4 left wing gear tires burst out. The ground crew also found the left hand side inboard flap was unable to be retracted to its original position with a deformation at lower side of the inboard flap track fairing. No one was injured in this serious incident.


ASC, the government investigation agency started up the investigation after the serious incident happened
