Description

On May 2, 2012, TransAsia Airways passenger flight 515, an ATR-72, B-22810, took off from Songshan Airport at 17:48 Taipei time for Magong Airport. At 17:53, when the aircraft climbed up to an altitude of 4,971 feet, warning message of oil pressure unstable and engine no. 1 fire showed up on cockpit instruments. The flight crew members immediately used fire extinguishers, shut down engine no.1,performed engine fire procedures and requested air turn back. The aircraft returned and landed at Songshan Airport at 18:26.All passengers and crewmembers aboard were safe.
