Description

China Airlines flight CI112, a B737-800 aircraft, registration number B-18612, was scheduled to take off from Taoyuan International Airport at 17:09 pm on July 22, destined for Hiroshima, Japan. There was a cabin pressure defect in the record book during the preflight check, which was corrected after repair inspection and the aircraft was released for flight. When climbing to about 36,000 feet, the flight crew found that the cabin pressure had risen to 8,000 feet and continued to rise, so they immediately stopped the climb and called the air traffic control to request a descent, while performing the cabin altitude warning (CAB ALT WARNING) in accordance with the Operations Manual (QRH). The cabin pressure continued to rise to 10,000 feet, the passenger oxygen mask was dropped, and the flight crew performs an emergency descent procedure and declared an emergency. The air traffic control vectored the return flight to land safely at Taoyuan International Airport.
