Description
On September 10, 2019, a Kaohsiung-registered ocean-going fishing vessel, Ruiying, registration number CT7-0491, at 0100 AM. Taipei time was hit by a fishing boat and sank over the high seas (42 degrees 1-minute north latitude, 162 degrees 21 minutes east longitude) about 796 NM east of Kushiro Port, Japan. All 61 people on board (4 Taiwanese, 29 Indonesian, and 28 Filipino) were rescued by the Zaifa No. 8 fishing boat, and all were safe.
