Description

On March 5th, 2023, at 1346 hours, the National Rescue Command Center of Taiwan received an occurrence notification from the Japan Coast Guard, it indicated that a fishing boat "SHIN CHANG FA NO.88" was found capsized about 140 nautical miles East-northeast from Keelung port. On the morning of March 6th, the Japan Coast Guard dispatched divers to check the cabin of "SHIN CHANG FA NO.88" and found a body, which was later confirmed to be the captain of the fishing boat. At 2200 hours on March 10th, the search and rescue operation was terminated, and another six Indonesian crew members were still missing.
