Description

On September 20, 2014, a Mandarin Airlines flight AE 964, an ERJ190 bearing registration B-16821, took off from Zhengzhou, China for Taichung, Taiwan.  At local time 2128 hrs, the aircraft deviated to the right during landing, and veered off at approximately 2,120 ft from the threshold of Runway 36 before returning to the pavement after another 1,200 ft.  The aircraft continued to taxi back to its gate.  No injury was reported.  The right hand side engine cowling was slightly damaged due to impact with a taxiway sign.  One runway edge light and taxiway E2 sign on Runway 36 were damaged.
