Description

On August 2, 2019, a Suao registered fishing boat Chuang Yih Tsair No.1, registration number CT4-1103, with a gross tonnage of 68.49, departed from Yilan Wushi Port for fishing operations. There were 6 crew members (1 Taiwanese and 5 Indonesian) on board. The operating area was around 24 degrees 32.3 minutes north latitude, 122 degrees 06.3 minutes east longitude (12 NM east of Suao). The fishing boat had not returned to Wushi Port before August 6; however, the Japan Coast Guard reported on August 6 that the wreckage of a ship was found near Diaoyutai, which was identified as Chuang Yih Tsair No.1 by the Fisheries Agency with the photos provided by the Japanese Coast Guard.
