On November 23, 2022, one Chinese crew member of TAY JYE CHERNG NO.1 fishing boat, numbered CT4-1686, was flowed away by the current and disappeared while underwater working at 20 nautical miles north of Pengjia Islet. It was not found after 72 hours of searching.
